FundMyComic is a great concept only I hear a lot of comic book creators addressing the fact that their work doesn't get much exposure as it would on KS or IGG
This is true, as far as I can tell, but It offers a much better deal and I’m hoping it will get big over time. I plan to use it. If more decent people would spend their money more wisely, we wouldn’t be in such a mess today.
Luke has said most creators who crowdfund on FMC run simultaneous campaigns on the big Establishment crowdfunders. I probably will, too, because I don’t want huge sectors of the market to be walled off from me. And if my book gets banned on KS and IGG, I am very confident I’ll still have FMC.
About promotion: I've seen people drop superchats about their projects in comics-related YouTube shows, like the Greybeards, for example. The good thing? The audience are definitely comics fans. But how effective can a short message be? I don't know.
I'm no YouTube guru either. But it's a message that gives money to the show, usually a few dollars. So consider it paid advertisement. I'd say probably better than Facebook Ads etc. as far as ROI goes.
Aahh, OK. I’ve seen that happen but didn’t know it was called “super-chat.”
So, a creator is watching a livestream. They donate some $$ to the streamer, and if they plug their own work in the adjoining text, they get a little exposure to that audience. Is that how it works?
I'm so glad you finally found somebody! Networking really is king in these kinds of projects.

Curious what a super-chat is. I know--I'm a dinosaur.

Exactly. Some streamers read those texts aloud, which is of course a good thing. Otherwise, it's just a highlighted message in the chat.
