I'm currently considering Reallusion (3D images, easy to learn ) and some other character-creation software. The best AI images came from Firefly.
You can animate them, pose, do motion capture of you face from you phone to make them talk or have facial expressions. There are built in facial expressions. There are many good vids from the company on YT, but customer support by way of chat or phone seems nil.

As I understand it, Reallusion is just for character creation. After the initial generation, can you use it to do anything else with the character?

Thanks for the comment, Gio. Yeah. "AI" art has come a long way in the last few years, but it's still not there, yet.
What a fantastic journey. AI art is hard to master and it is certainly no shortcut if you want the result to be personable and original
