I commented on one of the many, many substack posts on this topic that my husband has been enjoying pulp stuff like litRPG stuff. Somebody restacked my post with an utterly incomprehensible reply that the only people who write litRPG do it ironically. I didn't respond because I didn't even understand the words they were using. But yes, it's that kind of bonkers people coming out of the woodwork to argue this.
Publishing—editors, agents, etc—is dominated by women and, yes, after decades of alienating male readers, we have the self-fulfilling prophecy of women readers dominating the consumer pie.

I follow No-Nonsense Editor on YouTube and here on Substack — she's very informative. She's also prior military (USMC), which is why she's squared away.

Probably picked up some red pills there. Makes sense.
Well said. Hoping we're about to witness a Renaissance of fiction that meets men's needs. Well before this current viral moment, I published a few thoughts on what this rebirth could look like. Curious to get your thoughts. Cheers! https://open.substack.com/pub/leovaughn/p/make-masculinity-great-again?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=el4qy
